A visual series that explores the delicate yet decisive relationship between vision and action, observation and responsibility.
At the heart of each piece lies an eye detached from the human face, and thus from the self held by one or more hands.
The eye, a symbol of perception, inner knowledge, and truth, is stripped of its role as a neutral observer.
It does not look it is looked at. It does not see it is held.
And the very act of holding a gaze in one’s hands carries a profound moral weight.
The series confronts a fundamental idea: that the gaze is never passive.
How we look and even more so, what we choose to do with what we see holds weight, influence, and consequence.
A gaze can be an act of revelation or suppression, of compassion or rejection. It can bring truth into the light, or drown it in the darkness of indifference.
Each work carries a different question or tension: When does the gaze become a burden? How does it change when it is seen, instead of seeing?
Is it possible to protect the innocence of vision? Or does every glance carry a latent form of power?
Through shifting gestures, textures, and materiality, the series becomes a mirror not only of the world we observe, but of the way we choose to see it… or to turn away from it.
In the end, what does it mean to look?
And what does it mean to allow oneself to be?
