In The Athenian, three figures meet who seem to belong to different moments of the same life. Each carries a different gaze, a different weight, a different breath. And yet, they share the same city, the same steady
pulse that never slows. In the artwork The Athenian, I portray them as a collective consciousness of women who learned to keep moving despite adversity, disappointment, and unseen battles. They are women
shaped by apartment buildings, avenues, shifting neighborhoods, and work that is not always stable. And still, they continue to dream, to claim, to stand. They do not need to shout to be heard; their presence alone is a statement.
That is the power of the city: their power.
