“Kalliopi” is, for me, a woman I meet every day in the streets of Athens; quiet, yet full of strength. In the artwork “Kalliopi,” I portray her in that moment when she takes a breath before continuing.
She lives within rhythms that never pause, balancing work, care, expectations, and the small personal wishes she keeps for herself. Her form seems made of fragments, just like daily life: pieces
that come together to create something whole. I observe strength not in grand gestures, but in the silent ones. I recognize it in her gaze, her patience, her ability to continue. With this work,
I honor all of these quiet heroines of the city.
